A year and a half since I first started tracking the Olympic precinct suburbs through all the stadium back-and-forth, worth an actual check-in now that both Woolloongabba and Victoria Park have concrete, funded plans attached instead of speculation.
Woolloongabba's had the more visible activity, Cross River Rail construction has been underway there for a while independent of anything Olympic-related. Victoria Park is earlier stage, construction on the new stadium doesn't start until after this summer's Ashes Test.
Price growth in both has tracked the broader Brisbane market rather than dramatically outpacing it so far, which tells me the market hasn't yet priced in the full infrastructure story, or is waiting for shovels in the ground before committing to a premium. Worth watching both over the next two years as construction actually becomes visible rather than promised.
